GAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN...MAY 2018:
Our initiative "KEEP THE JUNGLE GREEN" has recently sent out 22 members of EcoTravel Bukit Lawang along with 4 members of the National Park in order to clean the campsites and trekking paths in the Sumatran rainforest. The current result: 24 HUGE BAGS FULL OF GARBAGE, PLASTIC BOTTLES, CANS AND MORE were collected during our 1-day cleaning initiative from the Gunung Leuser National Park. Up to date we are the only tour operator in all Sumatra investing in a clean jungle - and with the SUPPORT OF OUR GREAT ECOTRAVEL GUESTS we will continue this way! CHEERS TO A CLEANER AND GREENER WORLD!

KEEP THE JUNGLE GREEN: ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS

MORE THAN 10.000 LITRES OF WASTE have been removed from the rain forest - within 3 years only! ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS for our EcoTravel-Team in Bukit Lawang. Since 2014 we have been clearing waste left by other tour operators in Gunung Leuser National Park, Sumatra. We remove garbage during each of our jungle treks and even more thoroughly on our regular waste collection days. Once again, our initiative "KEEP THE JUNGLE GREEN" has recently sent out 22 members of EcoTravel Bukit Lawang along with 4 members of the National Park in order to clean the campsites and trekking paths. The village walking way got cleaned the next day. And even though the whole of Bukit Lawang seems to ride the "eco wave", THE CURRENT RESULT HAS BEEN RATHER SHOCKING: 35 bags of plastic waste – each holding 40 litres – and 2 bags full of glass bottles! A big THANK YOU goes out to our EcoTravel guests. SUMATRA ECOTRAVEL BUKIT LAWANG: KEEP THE JUNGLE GREEN!

Waste is generally a big problem in the wilderness, so we do it AGAIN AND AGAIN: 12 huge bags full of garbage, plastic bottles, cans and more were collected during our traditional cleaning project in the Gunung Leuser National Park - a regular initiative of our EcoTravel team to clean the campsite areas of Aras Pinang, Batu Rongring and Ariko. Again, our team was supported by members of the National Park, a total of 17 people! We offer tours, we love having guests! But it is essential to keep the impact of tourism under control. Up to date we are the only tour operator and hotel in Bukit Lawang investing in a clean jungle.
