Sumatra EcoTravel: Keep the jungle green!
„Keep the jungle green!“
Big cleaning at the end of the rainy season: 16 big bags full of garbage,
plastic bottles, cans and more were collected during a 1-day cleaning
project in the Gunung Leuser National Park - an initiative of our EcoTravel
team to clean the campsite areas of Aras Pinang, Batu Rongring and Ariko.
Our EcoTravel team was supported by members of the National Park team, of
the HPI (guide association Bukit Lawang) and by villagers from the Samperaya
village communities, a total of 16 people!
We offer tours, we love having guests! But it is essential to keep the
impact of tourism under control. In July 2012 Sumatra EcoTravel Bukit Lawang
launched its first waste collection in the Gunung Leuser National Park, in
cooperation with the local NGO Wisata Asri Bukit Lawang. Up to date we are
the only tour operator and guesthouse in Bukit Lawang to invest in a clean
jungle and safety for our guests.“
